Cap de Mar is a modern luxury true family beach house located in beautiful Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. The villa offers guests spectacular panoramic views of miles of beach coast. Walk down your private beach access and put your feet in the sand or watch it all unfold from the infinity pool. Ideal getaway location to enjoy the peace and the best snorkeling on the main island! 

Cap de Mar is currently being remodeled to convert to a 5 bedroom, 5.5 baths house. The photos will be uploaded once construction is completed on October 30th.  

The left side of the cove borders the Cerro Gordo National Park, where you can explore walking, hiking, bike trails & more. 

Cap de Mar offers a full-size water tank in case of an interruption on water service. As well as a full-size generator in case of an interruption in electrical services. The property conveniently offers a washer & dryer perfect for an extended stay. 

 

COVID REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS:

1) COVID-19 TESTING AND VACCINATION: State government law requires us to have all guests submit via email proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative PCR molecular COVID-19 test result 72 hours before check-in. 

2) POOL & COMMON AREAS: Many common areas in communities around the island are limiting capacity. This includes pools, tennis courts, and children’s parks and is an evolving phenomenon. Please reach out to us prior to booking if you would like to know the status of common areas. 

3) MASKS: Masks are required in many common areas and establishments. Please travel with a hefty supply of masks.

4) CLEANING PROCEDURES: We have updated our cleaning procedures to include industry best practices in response to COVID-19. We are using disinfectant cleaning products on all surfaces and are programming a 24-hour gap between check-outs and check-ins. Our cleaning staff wears PPE during the entire cleaning and disinfecting process. 

 

LIVING AREA:

Enter Cap de Mar to an open concept living area with a spacious and fully equipped kitchen. Alongside the kitchen is the grand wood dining table that comfortably sits 6. There is also a family area with a comfortable sofa & big flat-screen TV. Ample modern windows allow the fresh trade wind’s breeze and natural light to pour into the luxury home. The dining room leads to the terrace which then leads to the glorious infinity-edge swimming pool and private terrace. Adding to the magic of this vacation retreat is the direct access to its private beach. 

 

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:

Cap de Mar can sleep up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms. Three bedrooms are located on the second floor of the villa. Starting with its grand open concept master bedroom which includes a king bed, private balcony, and an en suite bathroom with a freestanding tub, double vanity sink, his & hers shower, and magical ocean views throughout the entire Master bedroom. The second and third bedrooms feature queen size beds and have their own private bathrooms. There is also an additional private bathroom for guests to enjoy. 

2 additional bedrooms are located on the third floor. Grandmaster bedroom features a king-size bed with epic ocean views. The additional bedroom features two full-size beds. Both rooms have dedicated TVs and share a full-size bathroom. The guests staying in this bedroom can enjoy the additional private bathroom located on the second floor. Also on the 3rd level, there is a stunning bar with a fridge, sink, microwave, a pool table, and a large balcony with epic views. 

 

KITCHENS:

Cap de Mar’s kitchen is modern, romantic, spacious, sleek, and perfectly designed to cook with family in mind. Its fully equipped kitchen is located beside the dining table and opens up to the terrace. This kitchen is perfect for hosting guests/family. Its large island and counter area has additional seating with 4 stools. Equipped with top-notch stainless steel appliances. 

 

LOCATION:

This spacious beach house is located in Vega Alta. Well known among locals for its excellent location, and world-class beach. Vega Alta is an easy 40-minute drive from the airport and has a wide array of dining options nearby.

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are our top picks:

  • Explore the local culinary scene with everything from local Puerto Rican food to excellent Italian and Asian options.
  • Road trip to the Cerro Gordo or Dorado public beaches. Both of these are sandy and very long, great for early beachcombing or for a change of scenery
  • Shop at the Barceloneta Outlets, a 30 min drive away with great shopping and dining options.
  • Spend a day in Old San Juan, a 30 min drive away and the oldest city in all of the US.

 

GETTING AROUND:

Renting a car is a must when staying in Vega Alta. The property includes parking for up to 2 vehicles. You will need it to move around to nearby restaurants, shops, and beaches as well as to explore the rest of the island. 

 

AMENITIES:

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. To name a few these amenities to include a set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom,  garbage bags, rolls of paper towel, rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, dish soap, dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 

HOUSE RULES: 

  • Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
  • Check-out time is at 11:00 am
  • NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
  • NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
  • Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
  • The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
  • All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
  • Maximum occupancy of 10 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
  • Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
  • Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
  • Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
  • Subletting not allowed

We stayed for 5 nights and didn’t want to leave. Views are amazing!! Infinity pool is great and private beach perfect for snorkeling. We couldn’t enjoy much the beach because of the “sargazo”( algae) but that is seasonal. Response from the
