Villa Acuarela | Spectacular 2 bedroom overlooking San Se’ Street

SUMMARY:

Nestled in the 500-year-old historic Spanish colonial city of Old San Juan, Villa Acuarela is the ideal basecamp to explore Old San Juan history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. You will love people watching from the comfort of your own three-door balcony overlooking the famous San Sebastian Street. The location is ideal for those looking to be right where the action resides in Old San Juan, located next to all the nightlife and restaurants of Calle San Sebastian and a short walk from El Morro Spanish fort. It is also just a few steps from the Old San Juan Cathedral. The apartment sleeps five adults, has a king bed, a full bed, and a twin bed, a six-person dining table, an updated and fully stocked kitchen, a living room with flat-screen TV and WIFI. 

IMPORTANT:

This apartment is overlooking the street – guests will hear street noise at night from Friday to Saturday and that is part of the charm!

LIVING AREAS:

Enter Villa Acuarela to a great showcase of Puerto Rican folkloric art. The walls are filled with beautiful local paintings that give it a truly authentic Old San Juan feel. The layout includes a comfortable living room with a sofa and flat-screen TV, a 6-person dining table and the renovated and fully stocked kitchen. All this is encompassed by the spectacular triple door balcony that oversees San Se’ street. Open up all the doors to enjoy all the natural sunlight. The villa has air conditioning and WIFI.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:

Villa Acuarela’s master bedroom is appointed with a king bed that is outfitted with fresh linens for each stay. The second bedroom has a bunk bed with a full and twin bed.  This apartment has a maximum occupancy of 5 guests but there is a seating area for up to 8 in case you are planning to have friends visit. There is also a ceiling fan and air conditioning.

KITCHEN:

Villa Acuarela has a simple but modern kitchen with a fridge, microwave, sink, and a stove. It is fully stocked with everything you might need for an extended stay. Dinnerware and a small cooking pot set are included. 

LOCATION:

Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience. The charm and character you will experience in the 500-year-old is one of a kind. From Villa Acuarela you can comfortably walk to anywhere within Old San Juan.  The villa is located in one of the most famous streets in Old San Juan, San Sebastián street. You will have all the nightlife and restaurants just steps from the villa. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. Villa Acuarela does not include parking. 

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

• Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
• Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
• Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
• Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and “trendy” spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
• Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.

GETTING AROUND:

This property does not include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan – pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate. 

AMENITIES:

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 

HOUSE RULES: 

• Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
• Check-out time is at 11:00 am
• NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
• NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
• The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
• All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
• Maximum occupancy of 5 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
• Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
• Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
• Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
• Subletting not allowed
