Nestled in the 500-year-old historic Spanish colonial city of Old San Juan, Villa Laurel is the ideal basecamp to explore Old San Juan history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. You will love the serenity of this 2 bedroom apartment that has spectacular double doors that open to a private interior patio. The location is ideal for those looking to be close to the action in Old San Juan, located less than a block from the busy nightlife and restaurants of Calle San Sebastian and a short walk from El Morro Spanish fort. It is also just a few steps from the Old San Juan Cathedral. The apartment sleeps 4 adults, has one queen bed in the master bedroom, and a queen bed in the second bedroom, an updated and fully stocked kitchen with 2-person counter space, a living room with flat screen TV and WIFI, one full bathroom and one-half bathroom.

NOTE: The building is currently undergoing maintenance work in the common areas such as painting and power washing. There may be some noise related to this work between 8:00am and 5:00pm during these dates.



1) PRE-ARRIVAL COVID TESTING: Travelers entering any of the Island’s three open airports are required to fill out a Travel Declaration Form through the Puerto Rico Health Department’s online portal, get a PCR molecular COVID-19 test (nasal or throat swab) no more than 72 hours prior to visiting the Island and show proof of a negative result.  These are strict government regulations and we encourage you to please visit the link below for the latest travel requirements to the island. 

2) MASKS: Masks are mandatory when in public and in all common areas. Please be ready to travel with and bring masks for your stay. 
3) CLEANING PROCEDURES: We have updated our cleaning procedures to include industry best practices in response to COVID-19. We are using disinfectant cleaning products on all surfaces and are programming a 24 hour gap between check-outs and check-ins. Our cleaning staff wears PPE during the entire cleaning and disinfecting process. 


Enter Villa Laurel to an open layout that includes a comfortable living room with sofa and flat screen TV, a renovated and fully stocked kitchen with a 2-person counter space and spectacular doors that you can completely open to the private interior patio or leave closed with windows to let in sunlight. The villa has air conditioning and WIFI. The layout makes very efficient use of space and the cathedral ceilings make the area feel much larger. There is one full bathroom with standing shower and one half bathroom. Bath and beach towels are included.



The master bedroom is appointed with a queen bed that is outfitted with fresh linens for each stay. The second bedroom queen size bed. This apartment has a maximum occupancy of 4 guests. There is a ceiling fan and air conditioning in both bedrooms.



Villa Laurel has a simple but modern and recently renovated kitchen with a fridge, microwave, sink, and a stove. It is fully stocked with everything you might need for an extended stay. Dinnerware and a small cooking pot set are included.   



Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From Villa Laurel, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a true walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

  • Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must do.
  • Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
  • Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
  • Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and “trendy” spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
  • Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.



This property does not include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan – pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate. 



West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 2 rolls of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 



  • Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
  • Check-out time is at 11:00 am
  • NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
  • NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
  • The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
  • All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
  • Maximum occupancy of 4 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
  • Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
  • Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
  • Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
  • Subletting not allowed
