Nestled in the 500-year-old historic Spanish colonial city of Old San Juan, Villa Terracota is the ideal venue to explore Old San Juan history, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. The villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, a spacious living room alongside a clean & modern kitchen and dining area for 4. You will appreciate the combination of old-world colonial structural design and new world amenities such as air conditioning throughout the villa, wifi, TV, and modern yet simple decor. The location is ideal for those looking to be close to the action in Old San Juan, next to restaurants, a plaza and all that you need to see in this beautiful historic city. The villa comfortably sleeps 6 adults. This is a historic building in a 400-year-old city and as a result, it has original checkered, distressed floors throughout.

 

LIVING AREAS:

As you enter, you’ll be greeted by the modern kitchen which is a couple of steps away from the spacious living area. The living room is decorated with rich terracotta & green colors which makes the space feel tropical and breezy. Features an L shape sofa, state of the art flat-screen TV, AC, dining table for 4 and a modern sleek kitchen.

 

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:

Villa Terracota has three bedrooms that comfortably sleeps 6 adults. The 1st bedroom has a double bunk bed, its quirky & colorful decor makes the room feel colorful and fun. 2nd bedroom has a full-size bed, with green and grey tones throughout. The spacious Master bedroom has a queen bed, two side tables, air conditioning, access to a full bathroom and a spacious closet. All three are appointed with fresh linens for a good night’s sleep!

 

KITCHEN:

Villa Terracota has a comfortable kitchen, which was just recently renovated with new cabinets and countertops. The kitchen has a coffee maker, stovetop, microwave, and fridge. It features a beautiful traditional Spanish window for plenty of natural light. We include enough paper towels, trash bags, and dish soap for guests to comfortably start their stay. 

 

LOCATION:

Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From the property, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located on one of the quieter streets but still steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab from the airport and using Uber or taxi while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.  

There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:

  • Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
  • Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
  • Breakfast at “La Bombonera”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
  • Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and “trendy” spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
  • Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.

 

AMENITIES:

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.

West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 2 rolls of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 

HOUSE RULES: 

  • Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
  • Check-out time is at 11:00 am
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated. 
  • Building quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
  • The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
  • All bookings are contingent on signing a short term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
  • Maximum occupancy of 6 adults/children
  • Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
  • Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
  • Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule. 
  • Subletting not allowed
